Dirk x Reader- Anime Dates Chapter One

Dirk Strider was nothing less then your best friend. The two of you had practically been glued together since elementary school and have done many cosplays since. From Halloween to any con the two of you could afford, it was always cosplays, anime, manga, and a very strong friendship that can only be forged through a deep love of something.

This year, Dirk, being the sly sneak he is, got tickets for Anime Expo. Four day pass and still lots of money to spare (you both agreed long ago to save every penny possible for these events).The summer break was to be spent planning cosplays and what you both should check out.

“We need something classic, for sure.” Dirk started, browsing the internet. You were crosslegged on his bed, surfing the web on you totally anime-dedicated iPad (a gift from another anime friend that you still were in touch with).

“Hmm... What about Naruto and Hinata? But we put a spin on it: formal wear.” you suggested, eyes glued to you iPad. The whole cosplaying as pairings were normal between you two, plus, it was too much fun to see people squeal and giggle when they saw their ship wandering around. Dirk, however, suggested this trip should be full of ships.

“Very cool, (Name). I like it. But I don’t think we’re classic enough.” Dirk spun his chair around to face you, smirk on his face. You glanced up, and suddenly understood. “We need to cosplay Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask.” he insisted. Go figure that’s what he wanted.

“It sounds like fun, Dirk, really. But her skirt is so short...” You winced at the thought.

“But that’s the whole point!” he joked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively as you groaned. Mumbling a ‘pervert’ under your breath, you returned to the glowing screen. “So, that’s two days down. We need another cosplay and we’re set!” He thought about it, tilting his head and humming to himself softly as he debated.

“Ash and Misty?” you joked, looking up at him.

“How about Dawn instead, (Name)?” he added, wiggling his brows again. You laughed at him. Geez, this guy...

“No way, even if your not Jose.” Now it was his turn to laugh (and nearly hit his head on the keyboard, producing more laughter). It was later settled that the cosplays were: Sakura and Syoran Li (Card Captor Sakura, for cuteness, Dirk insisted), Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, and formal Naruto and Hinata. The last day would be spent browsing the booths and enjoying the final hours at AX.
